After School Student Activity Passes 2025-2026
In collaboration with the Andover YMCA, Andover Community Center, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, and the Andover City Council, a new policy has been put in place to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
Effective October 1, 2025 all Middle and High School students as well as students who reside in Andover including home school students who wish to visit the Andover YMCA Community Center between 2:30 pm - 4:45 pm on school days must purchase an After School Student Activity Pass. Students who do not have an Activity Pass must be accompanied by an adult unless they are:
- Participating in a scheduled activity or program in the facility, or
- Checking into the YMCA as a member or guest
The pass allows students to access the Andover YMCA Community Center on school days from 2:30 PM - 4:45 PM for students to play basketball, volleyball, or other sports in the Field house or relax and connect with friends in our Teen Room and Crash Space areas - perfect for unwinding, socializing, or getting a head start on homework.
The cost to obtain an After School Activity Pass for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year is $50 per student. Please note, After School Student Activity Schedules are subject to change based on facility availability.
Code of Conduct for After School Student Activity Pass Participants
YMCA Member, Andover Community Center Participant, and Guest Code of Conduct:
Our code of conduct embodies the core values of the Y and the spirit of the Andover Community Center, and is intended to help everyone including members, participants, and guests feel welcome and safe at the facility.
As a member, participant or guest, you agree to follow our code of conduct which is rooted in the values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect. That’s why the following personal conduct is prohibited in all YMCA facilities, programs, and online communities including the Andover Community Center Student Activity Pass:
A. Inappropriate attire. Appropriate attire must be always worn. No clothing with vulgar language, obscene gestures, racial slurs, or anything that contributes to a hostile environment or would be considered inappropriate in a family facility.
B. Inappropriate language. Hostile or vulgar language, including swearing, name-calling or shouting.
C. Threatening physical contact. Physical contact with another person in any hostile or threatening way including but not limited to “play fighting”.
D. Sexual activity. Any demonstration of sexual activity or sexual contact with another person.
E. Harassment / intimidation. Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language or any menacing behavior that demeans another person or culture.
F. Theft / destruction of property. Theft or behavior that results in the destruction of property.
G. Weapons. Carrying or concealing any weapons or devices or objects that may be used as weapons (including items that appear to be real). The YMCA bans all weapons on premises with or without a permit.
H. Illegal chemicals or alcohol. Using or possessing alcohol or drugs on YMCA Andover Community Center property, or at YMCA Andover Community Center sponsored programs.
I. Inappropriate conduct. Any other conduct of an inappropriate, threatening, or offensive nature.
J. Loitering. Loitering is not permitted in or outside YMCA Andover Community Center facilities or programs. Youth that are not registered as a Student Activity Pass holders will need to be accompanied by an adult in the Community Center during Student Gym times.
L. Tobacco. The use of tobacco or tobacco-like products, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted in or outside YMCA Andover Community Center facilities or programs, or on YMCA Andover Community Center property or program sites. YMCA Andover Community Center facilities, ground, and vehicles are a tobacco-free environment.
M. Social Media. Use of social networking websites in a manner that is contrary to the YMCA Andover Community Center’s mission, is detrimental to the community or is in violation of the law.
If a member, participant or guest feels uncomfortable in confronting someone directly about offensive behavior or other issues that are in violation of the code of conduct they should report the behavior to a YMCA/ Andover Community Center team member.
Suspension or termination of YMCA membership and removal from Andover Community Center activities may result from a violation of this Code of Conduct. While an incident is being investigated, the membership and access of the person(s) accused of violating this Code of Conduct may be suspended pending a final decision.
To create and maintain a space that embodies our core values, the Y and Andover Community Center are serious about being clear regarding activities that are not allowed. If you violate this code of conduct, consequences can include termination of membership, program privileges or access to facilities. The YMCA and Andover Community Center reserves the right to make situational decisions based on its mission and values.
Why does my student need an After School Student Activity Pass to visit the Andover YMCA Community Center after school?

How do students check-in?
Students will enter into the facility through door #13 where they will check in with staff and receive their wristband pass.
Does my child need their student ID?
Yes, students must bring their school ID.
Can my child bring a friend or a friend from another school district?
No, all students attending the after school activity at the Andover YMCA Community Center must have a purchased activity pass and students must attend an Andover School or live in Andover to participate.
Refund Policy?
There are no refunds allowed.
If I have more than one child that is a Middle or High School Student, do I need need to purchase them each a separate pass?
Yes
Does the After School Student Activity Pass include the use of the indoor walking track at the Andover Community Center?
No, the purchase of the After School Student Activity Pass does not include the use of the track.
Can my student use their YMCA Membership Card to access the 2025-2026 After School Student Activities?
No, all students wishing to participate in After School Student Activities on school days from 2:30 pm - 4:45 pm for sports activities in the Field House, or hang out in the Teen Room/Crash Space area must purchase an After School Student Activity Pass.
